Meet Jess and see how she balances both at Coles
Uni classes, assignments, placements, work. Jess’ got a lot to juggle.
As a Deli Team Member at Coles, she’s found a part-time job that fits around her Primary and Secondary Education degree, while giving her plenty of useful experience outside the classroom.
Since starting with no previous retail experience, Jess has learned everything from serving customers and preparing orders to problem-solving, communicating with different people and thinking on her feet.
And for Jess, the people make a big difference too. A supportive team and accommodating managers have helped make balancing work and study that little bit easier.
Her advice if you’re thinking about your first job? Don’t let a lack of experience stop you.
